Our Team
The Central Plains Cycling Team was started last year under the name of the Brookings Cycling Team by a group of riders who had been riding together for many years in Brookings. In March of 2007 the group became an official United States Cycling Federation (USCF) sanctioned team. Last year the team, sponsored by Mills Construction of Brookings, consisted of nine riders and in its inaugural season raced in Wyoming, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska. The team raced in both road and mountain bike disciplines and proudly placed almost every member on the podium with multiple 1st place results. Due to a couple members moving away and wanting to continue the team’s success, the team has now expanded to include riders from all across Eastern SD and Southwest MN. The team will continue on as the Central Plains Cycling Team.
The Central Plans Cycling Team (CPCT) is dedicated to Bicycle Racing throughout South Dakota and the Midwest. The team has been formed with the goal of developing the talent of area riders and to promoting competitive cycling throughout Eastern South Dakota. More experienced riders are to share their knowledge to help advance younger/newer riders within the sport of competitive cycling.
